In 1947, Fiorentino Marine Sales began outfitting 80-foot commercial fishing fleets with modified parachute anchors and commercial fishing equipment. Today, Fiorentino Para-Anchor is a major parachute anchor supplier for the U.S. Coast Guard, super seiners, and mega yachts.

Fiorentino's patented PARA-RING Anchor was selected as part of the Orion spacecraft recovery system after passing extensive NASA tests.

Excerpt from official NASA test report:

"During the course of testing, it was repeatedly proven that the sea anchor was necessary for the success of the recovery. First by deploying the sea anchor, the capsule drift speed was seen to be reduced by one half. Second, the capsule tendency to continually yaw was greatly reduced. This stabilization proved to be helpful to the recovery forces when deploying the floatation collar."
